Concept of 'The Big Guy in the Sky' |
Earlier I posted an idea about a large helium filled/mutated family man that was for now, permanently stuck high in the sky. At the moment he goes by the name Frank (no reason why) and he is generally a reasonable person that has accepted his situation. He has both a 'Golden Mean' and 'Golden Rule' personality, To a limit he is happy to negotiate and compromise his situation, after all it is not any ones fault, but possibly his own. Frank is also empathetic and compassionate, but if pushed too far he may act out like any normal person. He generally would be driven by emotion but he always consider logical outcomes/possibilities.

Facial features |
While stuck floating with no particular control of where he floats, Frank has very few strengths, although being a balloon decorator/operator/designer for a small time party shop, he is able to understand the reactions of his helium in certain circumstances and how the science behind it works, which could aid him in situations of weather or movement. Being up high is another advantage for him if he were to fight crime. He could provide a sort of surveillance for the city/town below.

Picnic with the family |
His greatest flaw would be that he has no direct control of his floating. This would be the central driver of most of his conflict situations.
Frank pictures himself firstly as a family man and an average guy, but he will never shy away from a person in need no matter what the situation. He also sees himself as an optimist - finding the best use of his situation, becoming a source of surveillance.
He is seen and known as 'the Big Guy in the Sky' to most, a floating giant surveillance camera to others and just a spot of shade for the rest.
Frank desires to come back to life on the ground and live with his family, but he is also open to this new experience and his family are ready to adapt to his situation. Other than that he doesn't want too much else, maybe a shade or shelter from the weather and the birds. To avoid the birds and other elements that annoy him, he will go as far as he can which in most cases is yelling at the top of his lungs and flailing his arms and legs frantically.
Ultimately Frank needs to learn how to get back to the ground or if that is not an option then he needs to understand how to survive in the sky, which would come down to dealing with the basics such as being with his family, eating, the birds and weather.
